XP Minesweeper Classic (in LÖVE)

A mostly faithful recreation of Windows XP Minesweeper, built with LÖVE.

• Classic XP Minesweeper look and feel
• Chording support (left+right click to clear around numbers)
• Supports up to 99x99 grids with 999 mines

Hotkeys

Global / Menu Navigation

• Alt - Activates hotkey mode, hotkey letters are underlined
• Alt-G - Opens game menu
• Alt-O - Opens options menu
• Alt-H - Opens help menu
• F2 - Starts a new game

Game Menu

• Alt-N - New game
• ALt-B - Beginner difficulty
• Alt-I - Intermediate difficulty
• Alt-E - Expert difficulty
• Alt-C - Custom board
• Alt-T - Show best times
• Alt-X - Exit game

Options Menu

• Alt-M - Toggle question marks
• Alt-S - Toggle sound

Help Menu

• Alt-A - Show about popup

Custom Popup

• Alt-H - Select height input box
• Alt-W - Select width input box
• Alt-M - Select mines input box

Getting Started

Simply grab the release for you OS from the releases page and run, or download Love2d and run the love file directly. (Confirmed to work on v11.5)

About This Project

This project is my way of practicing game development and learning the LÖVE (Love2D) framework. I wanted to recreate the classic Windows XP Minesweeper as a way to build my skills with Lua, graphics handling, and game logic. This is for fun and not a professional product in any way.
